The course only takes 1.5 - 2 hours to complete, but we will have people at the start point until 1:00 PM ready to provide instructions and get you going. 28 March – 1 April Backpacking from NYC (RECON). Our RECON outing for the Backpacking from NYC series. During this outing we will explore Harriman State Park from the Tuxedo Park stop off the Metro-North line from Hoboken, NJ. The purpose of this outing is to RECON trails and campsites for the upcoming series “Backpacking from NYC.” A full outing description with packing list will be provided upon your selection to attend. Backpacking gear is available for loan at no cost, food is provided.

Green Spaces

Find your very own urban oasis as we explore iconic public green spaces in Manhattan. From amazing atriums to soothing waterfalls, enjoy a day of indoor nature with other female veterans. Your only costs will be your transportation and if you wish to purchase any food. You can pack a bag lunch, we will have an indoor picnic in one of the Green Spaces that we visit. Children of all ages are welcome. We will meet at the Park Avenue Plaza at 12 noon. We will end at Rockefeller Center between 2-3 PM. Wave Hill Public Gardens
