Review EventIn partnership with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and the Sierra Cub Military Outdoors, we will lead a canoe and fly-fishing outing on the Allagash River in Northern Maine on 10-17 May 2019. This trip is rated as moderate in difficulty, you should have some experience with multi-day canoe trips and canoe handling. Discuss your skill level with the outing leader who recruited you if you are uncertain about becoming a member of this trip. During this outing we will explore the Allagash River within weeks of the ice breaking up and the area becoming accessible. This is also a great time in the season for cold water fly fishing (trout!). This is a long trip with six nights on the river. All meals will be provided beginning with dinner on Friday, 10 May.

During this outing we will explore the Beaverkill and Neversink Rivers, two of the best trout streams in the Northeast. Car camping at Beaverkill Campground, you will have many options for how to spend the day. Covering over 25 miles of difficult terrain will challenge the members of this expedition as we set-out to explore the scenic Hudson Valley along the Escarpment Trail. Basecamp will be established at the North South Lake campground both coming in and going out.
