To provide resources and specific guidance to veterans attending courses at New York University
Networking, course assistance, enrollment, and other guidance for Veterans and military students currently attending undergraduate or graduate programs
NYU has their heads so far up their backsides. Theres not one single employee who understands the GI Bill. One person claims to know what she's talking about...but she's often incorrect at the expense of the student veteran. "Student Advisors" don't understand the GI Bill's timeline and that you have to take 4-5 courses per semester to graduate before your clock runs out. Maybe one day they'll figure it out. until then...i recommend trying a college that actually hires veterans to handle veteran issues.
There seems to be no overall structure between groups at the different schools of NYU that actually does anything.
So far as an NYU Student, I've asked around to try and join and it seems that the only veterans groups that do anything are the separate schools' groups and not the overall one. While Columbia's MilVets are active and seem to have things together, the only person I could find was a guy at the student life center who was never in the military who immediately asked if I wanted to be the president of the group. Not very confidence instilling.
Lots of opportunities Provide a facility for Veteran students to access. Still don't know what administration represents each school within NYU.
